This project is located in Kunshan, covering 12,130 square meters. The site is in a high-rise residential area at the junction of two rivers, featuring a dense stand of camphor trees along the riverbank, forming a naturally precious woodland.

Huaqiao Jiangnan Silk and Bamboo music, originating from the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, features bamboo flute and erhu as main instruments, accompanied by pipa, yangqin, and xiao sanxian. Known for its elegance and fluidity, it was listed as Kunshan’s intangible cultural heritage in 2007.

Our design strategy emphasizes preserving the site’s original woodland and texture. Inspired by the flowing curves of silk and bamboo, the plan layout constructs the main framework. The main loop park running path connects important entrances, dividing the park into the riverside green belt and vibrant recreational park.

The riverside green belt design respects natural conditions, preserving existing woodland vegetation with minimal intervention. It includes a waterside viewing platform, forest paths, and sound interaction installations, providing a green, immersive resting place for citizens. This riverside woodland, with its natural beauty and interaction opportunities, offers an ideal space for citizens to connect with nature.

The vibrant recreational park area combines the existing terrain with a two-dimensional depiction of Jiangnan silk and bamboo instruments, creating an abstract three-dimensional space. It links unique interactive facilities like a skateboard park, climbing area, fitness park, open-air theater, bamboo forest path, musical water plaza, and music classroom. These facilities attract citizens of all ages, providing a lively and fun-filled community park throughout the year.

The new community park integrates local cultural elements and diverse activities, becoming a beloved space for residents. Its rich activity spaces inspire new ideas and hobbies, serving as the area’s natural experience zone and vibrant meeting place.
